Danville, Kentucky, Centre College is seeking qualified applicants for a position of Associate or Assistant Athletic Trainer. As a key member of Centre College Sports Medicine Team, the Athletic Trainer will be an active part in the five domains of athletic training: prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration and professional development and responsibility. Start date is negotiable with opportunities to work various sports camps on campus in June and July.
This is a full time, 10-month position; Varies depending on workload and season, will include evenings, weekends, and overnight travel. Centre College is a DIII school with an athletics block scheduled from 4-7pm. Come join our amazing staff of lifelong learners and motivated coworkers.
These positions report to the Head Athletic Trainer / Athletic Healthcare Administrator. This position will provide comprehensive healthcare and injury prevention services for:
1. AT Position #1: Football, Baseball, Men’s & Women’s Tennis
2. AT Position #2: Football, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field, Cheer

Evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
Provides practice and competition coverage of assigned teams, and assists other teams as needed.
Travel as needed with assigned teams
Appropriate use of therapeutic modalities, taping, and bracing
Proactive identification and management of concussions in conjunction with team physician
Completes necessary documentation using Sportswear EMR
Collaborates with strength and conditioning staff, team physician, student health, and all other members of health care team regarding student-athlete care
Clearly communicates with coaching staff regarding injuries and treatment plans
Maintain CPR/First Aid for professional rescuer certification
Relates necessary sports medicine information to visiting institutions and athletic training staff
Daily operation and maintenance of athletic training facilities
Administrative duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer
Abides by rules set forth by both NCAA, state of Kentucky, and SAA conference
Maintain continuing education according to the requirements of BOC and state of Kentucky

Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred, Bachelor’s required.
BOC certification in good standing
License from the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure
First Aid/CPR certification for the Professional Rescuer
NPI Number Preferred
Must be able to pass a background check
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective team player
Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations per state licensure guidelines
Decision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions
Additional certifications and skills, including but not limited to: Graston, ART, Cupping, Dry Needling, CSCS, CES, etc. are beneficial
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity and standing or walking for several hours per day
Lifting and handling of moderately heavy objects (water, ice-chests, etc.) is expected (25-40lbs)
