Head Boys Basketball

Position Overview

North Lamar is seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven educator to join our athletic and academic team as our Head Boys Basketball Coach with a second sport assignment. This individual will play a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field, while contributing to a positive, competitive, disciplined and student-centered culture. Teaching field is open.

Coaching Responsibilities

• Head Boys Basketball Coach
• Demonstrate mastery of fundamentals and player development
• Plan, organize, and execute daily practices with attention to detail and efficiency
• Build strong, positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and parents
• Promote accountability, discipline, and team culture aligned with program values
• Assist with offseason programs, strength and conditioning, and summer workouts
• Support the overall athletic program and multi-sport participation

Second Sport Responsibilities

• Coach one additional sport (football, golf, track, or soccer) 
• Contribute to program development, skill instruction, and competition preparation
• Foster a culture of effort, teamwork, and growth within the second sport

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals
• High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for coaching and teaching
• Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with students
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Commitment to the development of the whole student-athlete

Preferred Qualifications

• Head Coaching Experience at the high school level preferred
• Ability to contribute in multiple sports
• Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development
