Smithfield, Rhode Island, The Athletics Department at Bryant University invites applications for the 2-year Graduate Assistant Coach position for Women’s Rowing. Bryant University is an NCAA Division I program, sponsoring 25 varsity sports, and is a member of the America East Conference as well as an associate member of the Coastal Athletic Association, Big South, and East Coast Conferences. This position reports to the Head Women’s Rowing Coach. The Graduate Assistant Coach for Women’s Rowing will assist with the administration, coaching, and day-to-day operations of the Bryant University women’s rowing program while gaining practical experience in NCAA Division I coaching and program management. Salary Range: GA compensation includes a full tuition waiver, housing, and a $1,500.00 stipend in Spring and Fall semesters starting August 1. Graduate School is a 2-year part-time program beginning August 2026 through August 2028. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Head Coach with on-water and land-based instruction and student-athlete development during practices and competitions Supporting the planning and execution of training sessions, including technical rowing instruction, erg workouts, strength and conditioning coordination, and race preparation Assisting with regatta coaching responsibilities, including pre-race preparation, race day operations, and post-competition activities Supporting recruiting efforts, including identifying prospective student-athletes, communication, evaluations, and visits in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules Assisting with video analysis, technical feedback, scouting, and opponent research Supporting team operations including travel coordination, equipment and boat care oversight, line-up preparation, and practice scheduling Assisting with academic monitoring and student-athlete support initiatives Helping maintain compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies Assisting with administrative duties such as record keeping, documentation, practice planning materials, and meeting coordination Performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coach This position requires significant availability on early mornings, evenings, weekends, and during travel in alignment with practice and competition schedules. Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and acceptance into the Bryant University Graduate School (acceptance must be confirmed before candidate will be considered). Preferred Qualifications: Rowing experience as a collegiate student-athlete and/or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level Knowledge of rowing techniques, training methodology, and race strategies Interest in pursuing a career in collegiate coaching or athletics administration Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaching staff, and campus partners Exposure to intercollegiate athletics Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills GA compensation includes a full tuition waiver, housing, and a $1,500.00 stipend in Spring and Fall semesters starting August 1.
