Assistant Baseball / 2nd Sport Coach

Commerce High School – Commerce ISD

Commerce ISD is seeking a motivated, hard-working, and relationship-driven educator to serve as an Assistant Baseball / 2nd Sport Coach at Commerce High School. The ideal candidate will be committed to developing student-athletes through leadership, discipline, accountability, and competitive excellence both on and off the field.

Teaching field preferred: History, Math, or CTE certification

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of the baseball program grades 7–12
• Assist with assigned second sport responsibilities
• Help plan and implement daily practices, skill development, scouting reports, and game preparation
• Develop fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship within the program
• Assist with offseason strength and conditioning programs
• Support the maintenance and organization of athletic facilities and equipment
• Promote academic success and monitor student-athlete progress
• Build positive relationships with players, parents, staff, and community members
• Assist with transportation, supervision, and operational duties connected to the athletic program
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Ability to positively impact student-athletes and contribute to a strong program culture
