Job Description

Pembroke, North Carolina, The primary responsibility of the person in this position is to support the mission of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, the Athletic Department, and the Athletics Administration. This position requires minimal office hours, nights and weekends dependent on home competition and special event schedules. This Game Day Operations position is designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive athletics administration event operations experience within a NCAA Division II athletics department throughout their tenure, including game day management, event planning and execution, marketing and more. Below are a list of essential functions and tasks performed by this position on a consistent basis: • Represent the University, Athletic Department, and assigned department/sports program with integrity at all times • Follow the personnel standards included in our departmental Policies & Procedures and expectations outlined in the position offering. • Provide support on game day to execute duties to be compliant with expectations for a well-managed event that also adheres to NCAA rules, including ticket sales, live streaming, video replay, scoreboard, ball people and student worker oversight, sideline set-up, and other necessary game day roles • Serve as a game day lead for team sport home events and for outside event management for football and basketball. • Assist with any game day operations tasks including set-up and breakdown of the facilities for competitions and other events • Assist in keeping facilities clean and properly maintained, work with the Athletics Facilities Manager to make sure everything is aligned for game day operations. • Assist in hiring, training and scheduling of student workers for all athletic department hosted events (as assigned) Log and report hours for internships. • Support the daily operations and reporting of NCAA and conference rules compliance • Assist in the training and education of student-athletes, coaches and staff (as assigned) • Have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR, and complete university required driving-related trainings for golf cart and motor vehicle if needed. • Attend monthly department and compliance ed meetings and scheduled preseason related meetings for football and basketball. • Participate in department and university hosted or supported professional development opportunities if desired. • Other duties as assigned, including additional opportunities based on individual preference (i.e., grounds support, student-athlete development, business operations, compliance tasks, etc.) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree posted prior to start date Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills Valid driver’s license Able to lift and move objects Able to work nights and weekends Background Check
