Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Injury Prevention & Care:

  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs for student-athletes.
  • Provide first aid, emergency care, and injury assessment during practices and games.
  • Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
  • Uphold State and Local compliance

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with coaches to educate on injury prevention techniques and conditioning programs.
  • Communicate with parents, physicians, and school staff regarding injury status and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.

Game & Practice Coverage:

  • Attend all home athletic events and travel with teams as necessary.
  • Provide on-site medical assistance during practices, games, and tournaments.

Compliance & Administration:

  • Ensure compliance with UIL (University Interscholastic League) and Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA) guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper use of athletic training supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct concussion protocols and return-to-play assessments.
  • Manage RanONe

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Certification: Must be licensed as an Athletic Trainer (LAT) in Texas.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a high school or similar setting preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with rehabilitation techniques and strength training programs.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of UIL regulations and best practices in sports me
