Fort Stockton ISD is seeking an exceptional and driven Athletic Director to lead our thriving athletic programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for student growth, and a deep commitment to fostering character development in student-athletes. We are looking for an individual who can build on the incredible success of our athletic program while contributing to the overall development of our students, both as individuals and as athletes.

Unique Opportunity:

The Athletic Director will have the option to focus exclusively on administrative duties or combine these responsibilities with a head coaching role, depending on their interests and expertise.  Fort Stockton is located less than 100 miles North of Big Bend National Park, Davis Mountain State Park, Balmorhea State Park, Monahans Sandhills State Park, Sul Ross University in Alpine, and Midland/Odessa.

The packets must be organized in the following order: Cover Sheet(optional), 1-page letter of introduction (include why you want to lead FSISD Athletics), Resume (max 3 pages), Philosophy of Developing Student-Athlete (Optional), any additional information the candidate would like to share with the Team of 8.

Qualifications: 
 
*Required: Certified Educator, Bachelor's Degree, Coaching Experience, Pass Background Check
 
*Preferred: Master's Degree, AD/Head Coach Experience, experience as a former college or professional athlete or Coach, CDL(For Emergency Driving Only)
The ideal candidate's profile is as follows:
 
*Proven leadership experience in athletics, preferably as an Athletic Director or in a similar role
administrative role.
 
*Strong background in coaching and the ability to evaluate athletes and personnel
effectively.
 
*Excellent communication skills, capable of managing relationships with students,
parents, staff, and the community.
 
*Ability to remain composed under pressure and make difficult decisions in a sports-
centric environment.
 
*A passion for student growth, emphasizing both athletic achievement and character
development.
 
*Ability to work collaboratively with staff, coaches, and community members to elevate
the athletic program.


Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage all aspects of the district’s athletic programs, ensuring alignment with FSISD's mission and goals for student growth.

* Provide leadership and guidance to the coaching staff, ensuring consistency in performance expectations, discipline, and program philosophy.

* Foster a positive and supportive environment for athletes, coaches, and the community, focusing on the growth of student-athletes both on and off the field.

* Evaluate and assess athletic programs, personnel, and athletes to maintain high standards of achievement and sportsmanship.

* Handle high-pressure situations with poise and professionalism, maintaining respect for all parties involved.

* Act as a liaison between the school district, community, and various athletic organizations to promote positive relationships and strengthen the athletic program.

* Manage the scheduling and budgeting for the athletic department, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

Salary Range: 

Competitive based on proven abilities and successful experience in similar roles: $90-$135K (with annual reviews for pay increases)
