Orono, Maine, This position will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing to
enhance the game day experience while strengthening the Black Bear brand through
creative marketing efforts. The Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing will strive to
develop new marketing plans to help generate revenue and general awareness for
University of Maine athletics.
Develop and execute annual marketing and promotion plans for assigned sports, working directly with coaches to create sport-specific plans • Assist with development and application of season ticket campaigns, group sales and single game ticket sales • Provide support for all aspects of game day promotions and the game day experience • Develop a comprehensive student engagement plan to increase awareness of and attendance at home events • Coordinate all marketing social media efforts • Organize and direct student game day marketing team • Lead role in all graphic design to support the UMaine Athletics brand including, but not limited to, social media graphics, posters and other marketing collateral, video board slides, advertising elements • Increase community support and awareness of UMaine athletics • Manage all aspects of the Bananas Cub Club • Implement advertising campaigns for revenue sports • Promote athletic events by designing materials, utilizing campus e-mail, flyers, social media, campus and student organizations • Focus on marketing efforts through all social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) • Write game scripts including the timeline for band, dance and cheer • Work closely with Van Wagner for sponsor fulfillments • Lead in-game promotions and coordinate crowd giveaways with sponsors • Supervise student-workers at athletic events and on game day • Orchestrate video board graphics and audio
