The head coach manages the high school volleyball program. Responsibilities include organizing training sessions, game-day duties, player development, and promoting sportsmanship and academic achievement. This role plays a key part in building a positive team culture and representing the school with integrity.
Head Coach plan and lead all practices and drills.
Support in organizing team strategies, game plans, and in-game adjustments.
Supervise and mentor student-athletes on and off the field.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and respect among players.
Monitor players’ academic progress and eligibility.
Ensure adherence to school, district, and athletic association policies.
Help manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
Attend all practices, games, and team events, including travel when necessary.
Provide first aid and emergency care when appropriate.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
Texas Teacher Certification
Prior coaching or playing experience in volleyball (high school, college, or club level).
Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
Ability to motivate and instruct student-athletes.
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
Background check clearance required.
Valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with teenagers or in an educational environment.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Positive role model with a passion for youth development.
