Position Summary

The head coach manages the high school volleyball program. Responsibilities include organizing training sessions, game-day duties, player development, and promoting sportsmanship and academic achievement. This role plays a key part in building a positive team culture and representing the school with integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Head Coach plan and lead all practices and drills.

  • Support in organizing team strategies, game plans, and in-game adjustments.

  • Supervise and mentor student-athletes on and off the field.

  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and respect among players.

  • Monitor players’ academic progress and eligibility.

  • Ensure adherence to school, district, and athletic association policies.

  • Help manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities.

  • Attend all practices, games, and team events, including travel when necessary.

  • Provide first aid and emergency care when appropriate.

  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications

  • Texas Teacher Certification

  • Prior coaching or playing experience in volleyball (high school, college, or club level).

  • Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.

  • Ability to motivate and instruct student-athletes.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

  • Background check clearance required.

  • Valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
