Qualifications:

Current Texas Teaching Certificate (Required)

Current Texas Athletic Trainer License
Preferred National Athletic Trainer Certification
Knowledge of prevention & care, rehabilitation, evaluation, emergency care, and therapeutic modalities

 

Job Description, Responsibilities and Duties:

·         Cover athletics for two middle schools in the district

·         Promptly provide proper emergency care for injured athletes; refer serious injuries to physician; cooperate with physicians in carrying out treatments and rehabilitation of injured athletes; approve the injured athlete’s RTP

·         Compile & maintain a file that includes current physical exam, written releases, injury reports and other notes for each high school athlete

·         Maintain daily treatments in Rank One & report injuries to athlete’s head coach

·         Establish and maintain communication with coaches, parents, physicians, teachers, school nurses, athletic office, and athletic training staff

·         Monitor condition of AED’s in the Athletic Department

·         Attend school/district meetings and training as assigned by Athletic Director

·         Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director
