Position Overview
Perryton ISD is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head Girls Soccer Coach to lead our "Rettes" soccer program. As a key member of the Ranger athletic department, the Head Coach will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and academic success for approximately 540 high school students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Direct all aspects of the girls' soccer program, including varsity and junior varsity teams.
- Instruction & Strategy: Instruct players in rules, regulations, equipment, and modern techniques. Develop and implement competitive game strategies.
- Student Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, monitoring student-athlete academic progress and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
- Operational Management: Coordinate practice schedules, manage equipment inventory, and oversee program budgets in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
- Community Engagement: Host parent meetings and promote the soccer program within the Perryton community.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is recommended.
- Certification: Must possess a valid Texas teaching certificate (or be working towards one).
- Experience: Previous head coaching or significant assistant coaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of UIL policies and soccer-specific tactics.
- Health & Safety: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Driving: Ability to obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) to transport student-athletes to away games is often required for rural districts like PISD.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Based on years of teaching and coaching experience per the Perryton ISD Salary Schedule.
- Contract: Full-time, 12-month or seasonal supplemental contract options may be available.
