Job Title: Assistant High School Soccer Coach

Position Summary:
The Assistant High School Soccer Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the soccer program, helping to develop student athletes both on and off the field. This role focuses on skill development, teamwork, discipline, and fostering a positive athletic culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices and game preparation
  • Instruct student-athletes in fundamental soccer skills, techniques, and strategies
  • Help supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, games, and travel
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and character development
  • Support the monitoring of student-athletes’ academic progress
  • Assist with game-day operations, including setup, breakdown, and equipment management
  • Help coordinate off-season training and conditioning programs
  • Ensure safety and proper supervision of all student-athletes
  • Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and school staff
  • Represent the program and school in a positive and professional manner

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid teaching certification (preferred, depending on district requirements)
  • Previous soccer playing and/or coaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and strategies
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Head Coach
  • Commitment to student-athlete development and program goals
