JOB TITLE: Powerlifting / Position Coach (WR, RB) - Coach -High School
REPORTS TO: Campus Athletic Coordinator
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Develops student-athletes by designing specialized training programs, instructing on proper techniques for squat, bench press, and deadlift, and managing competition logistics. Must ensure safety, foster discipline, and often collaborate with other sports coaches to enhance athletic performance, usually requiring certifications in CPR/AED and strength conditioning. Will also serve as a position coach for varsity football.
The High School Coach is responsible for organizing and implementing the program for the assigned sport in keeping with the District goals, philosophy, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Training & Programming: Design and implement comprehensive in-season and off-season strength programs focusing on technical proficiency in squat, bench press, and deadlift.
- Supervision & Instruction: Actively supervise weight room sessions, providing hands-on instruction on lifting techniques, safety protocols, and proper form.
- Competition Management: Prepare students for competitions, manage meet logistics, organize rosters, and travel with athletes to meets.
- Athlete Evaluation: Assess and document student-athletes' progress, tracking improvements in strength and performance over time.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all school district policies and safety standards within the training facility.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with athletic trainers, coaches, and staff for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
- Mentorship: Promote academic success, good sportsmanship, and discipline in all student-athletes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the NSCA is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in coaching powerlifting or strength training, preferably at the high school level.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of current strength training techniques, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategies.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to work with students, parents, and school administration.

- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in squat, bench, and deadlift technique analysis.
- Motivational Leadership: Ability to motivate student-athletes, including both seasoned lifters and beginners.
- Organization: Ability to manage equipment, rosters, and competition schedules.
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
· Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun and heat.
