Job Description

Sharpstown High School is seeking a passionate and experienced educator to serve as Head Boys Soccer Coach. The ideal candidate will lead all aspects of the boys soccer program, fostering student-athlete development, academic success, and competitive excellence while maintaining compliance with district and UIL standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire boys soccer program (Varsity and sub-varsity levels)
  • Develop and implement year-round training, conditioning, and game strategies
  • Promote a culture of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress
  • Coordinate scheduling, travel, equipment, and program logistics
  • Engage with parents, faculty, and the community to build program support
  • Ensure full compliance with UIL and district policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); valid Texas teaching certification 
  • Previous high school or collegiate soccer coaching experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Texas high school athletics and UIL rules
  • Ability to build and sustain a competitive soccer program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Head coaching experience at the high school level
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Experience working in diverse, urban school settings
