Volleyball Assistant Coach (JV, Freshman) HIGHTOWER HS

Position Overview

The Hightower High School Volleyball Program is seeking a passionate, energetic, and growth-minded Varsity Assistant / JV,  or Freshman Volleyball Coach who is committed to continuing the development and advancement of our volleyball program. This position is ideal for a coach who aspires to become a head coach in the near future and is eager to grow under the mentorship of a veteran head coach within a competitive and values-driven athletic department.

We are specifically seeking a transformational coach — one who is intentional about developing student-athletes not only in skill and performance, but also in character, leadership, discipline, and accountability.

• Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Volleyball Coach in planning, organizing, and implementing all aspects of the volleyball program.

  • Serve as the Freshman, or the JV Head Coach and/or Varsity Assistant, depending on assignment.

  • Develop and implement practice plans aligned with program philosophy and standards.

  • Teach and refine fundamental volleyball skills, offensive and defensive systems, and in-game adjustments.

  • Support strength and conditioning initiatives during offseason and in-season programs.

  • Assist with scouting reports, film breakdown, and opponent preparation.

  • Help coordinate team travel, equipment management, and program logistics.

  • Promote academic accountability and monitor student-athlete progress.

  • Support program-wide character development initiatives (Texas Way / leadership development components).

  • Maintain positive communication with players, parents, faculty, and administration.
