Channelview ISD is seeking an energetic, experienced, and dedicated educator-coach to lead the High School Tennis Program as the Head Tennis Coach at Channelview High School. This is a full-time position that includes a teaching assignment aligned to the candidate’s Texas certification and district needs. The head coach will oversee all aspects of the tennis program, including varsity and sub-varsity development, while promoting academic success, strong character, and athletic excellence.

Lead and manage all aspects of the Channelview High School Tennis Program
Develop, coordinate, and implement practices, match preparation, and tournament planning
Promote and monitor academic performance and character development in student-athletes
Build and maintain a vertically aligned program with Channelview ISD's junior high campuses
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and administration
Ensure compliance with UIL, campus, and district athletic policies
Maintain and inventory all equipment and facilities related to the tennis program
Assist with campus-wide athletic and extracurricular initiatives as assigned
Fulfill all instructional duties within the assigned teaching field
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (7–12 certification in core or CTE content area)
Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred
Strong understanding of tennis fundamentals, program development, and athlete conditioning
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Passion for mentoring student-athletes on and off the court
Competitive teacher salary based on Channelview ISD salary scale
Stipend for Head Tennis Coach and potential for additional stipends based on responsibilities
Extra duty days for athletic preparation and oversight

Channelview ISD is a 6A school district located in an unincorporated area situated on the Houston Ship Channel approximately 15 miles east of downtown Houston.
