The Denver Tennis Club is a premier tennis facility that provides a cost-effective community of dedicated players in a quiet urban neighborhood. Here, enjoyment of the game, fellowship, instruction, competition, and recreational play are encouraged.
The Denver Tennis Club was formed by the merger of the Capital and Emerson Tennis Clubs in 1928. Thirty-four active members purchased the property from the widow of Mr. John Campion, a wealthy mine owner from Leadville, for $1,365.00. Mr. E. L. Griffey, the then-president of DTC, played a key role in transforming the Club into a premier tennis destination.
The Denver Tennis Club has a long and outstanding tennis tradition in the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado. We host one of Colorado’s oldest adult tournaments, the Denver City Open, which started in 1914. This has become the third-largest USTA adult tennis tournament in the country!
We are excited to celebrate our 98th year and look forward to celebrating 100 great years in tennis in 2028!
