The Elgin Independent School District is located approximately 22 miles east of Austin on HWY 290. Elgin iSD comprises more than 168 square miles in portions of Bastrop, Lee, and Travis counties, serving over 6,000 students. We currently have one middle school and one 5A high school, with a second middle school set to open in 2027.  EISD is considered a rapid growth district and has successfully passed bonds, including athletic improvements, in 2020 and 2024.
