DeSoto ISD is seeking an experienced leader to head the varsity boys’ basketball program at DeSoto High School while serving as a classroom teacher. Key Responsibilities • Lead all aspects of the varsity boys’ basketball program, including practices, games, player development, and feeder programs. • Build a competitive, disciplined program focused on academics, character, and athletic excellence. • Manage game operations, scouting, equipment, and budget. • Fulfill assigned teaching duties on campus. • Ensure full compliance with UIL and district rules. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum 4 years of head coaching experience at the high school varsity level. • Valid Texas Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment). • Bachelor’s degree. • Knowledge of UIL rules and regulations. • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
