This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with students, parents, faculty and staff.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and implement a successful recruiting/retention plan
Devise a game strategy which includes scouting opponents
Coach, plan and execute practices
Develop and oversee training and strength conditioning programs
Manage the program operating budget
Monitor academic progress of student athletes
Adhere to and ensure compliance with all NCAA and ITA rules and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
1-3 years of coaching experience or extensive playing background
Collegiate-level tennis experience
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment as well as stand for long periods of time and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Must also be able to bend, squat, and demonstrate a variety of techniques to student athletes.
Knowledge of Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rules
Physical Requirements:
Moderate Lifting: The ability to lift up to 35 lbs .
Reaching & Bending: Occasionally needing to reach above head level or bend down.
Noise Levels: The ability to work in an environment with moderate noise.

Have previous collegiate coaching experience
