70118, Louisiana, Position Summary: This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities & Event Management and serves as the primary facilities operations point of contact for select athletic venues, as well as the primary game and event management contact for multiple intercollegiate athletic programs and sporting events. The role is responsible for coordinating event setup and breakdown and overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned facilities, including maintenance, grounds, landscaping, IT systems, network/televisions, custodial services, concessions/catering, inventory, and parking operations. Additionally, this position supports the execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests and assists with occasional third-party special events and facility rentals. Essential Functions of the Job: 1. The position performs daily routine maintenance, cleaning, orderliness and facility checks of assigned athletic facilities and directly responds to and/or dispatches any issues within assigned facilities requiring attention. (40%) 2. The position performs event operations preparation and execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests for multiple athletic programs, including producing timing/event sheets, facility setup/breakdown, coordinating event/security staffing, coordinating emergency medical staffing, coordinating law enforcement staff, communication and coordinating game officials and game management staff, etc. The position will serve as the lead event operations contact for multiple athletic programs and may serve as the secondary event operations contact for an athletic program(s). (25%) 3. The position assists with the execution of all Tulane Football home gamedays. The position oversees assigned area(s) and responsibilities on gamedays and assists customers/fans with issues and complaints. The position will work with contracted staff and Tulane staff to ensure a smooth and successful gameday experience. (15%) 4. The position manages assigned daily facility management systems, such as: Blackboard card access system, EMS scheduling system, unit golf cart fleet, budgeting system, sport field lighting scheduling system, scoring system, etc. (10%) 5. Performs other duties, as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description. (10%) Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in sports administration or closely related field 1 year of experience in athletic facilities and event management Current First Aid and CPR Certifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills Strong Writing Skills Ability to Interact Effectively with Coaches, Administrators, Student Athletes and Vendors Extremely Organized, Self-Starter, Intrinsically Motivated Strong Organizational, Management and Leadership Skills Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and social media Proven Ability to Multi-Task Effectively Ability to Prioritize Assignments and Meet Deadlines Available to Work Flexible Work Schedule Including Nights and Weekends Through Knowledge of NCAA and American Conference Rules and Regulations Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree Previous experience at the NCAA Division I level in athletic facilities and/or event management NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately.  Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
