We are seeking a high-energy, passionate Head Basketball Coach dedicated to building a competitive program through strong relationships, player development, and a team-first culture. Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the basketball program (7–12)
- Plan and implement daily practices focused on fundamentals, skill development, and team concepts
- Develop and execute game strategies while fostering a competitive mindset
- Establish clear expectations for effort, attitude, discipline, and accountability
Program Development & Team Building:
- Build a positive, unified culture centered on trust, toughness, and teamwork
- Develop relationships with student-athletes that promote growth on and off the court
- Create a program identity that emphasizes selflessness, work ethic, and pride
- Mentor assistant coaches and ensure alignment throughout the program
- Promote and grow participation within the basketball program
Student-Athlete Development:
- Emphasize character, leadership, academic success, and sportsmanship
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for all athletes
- Build strong communication with parents, staff, and the community
Administrative Duties:
- Manage scheduling, travel, equipment, and program needs
- Coordinate camps, offseason development, and skill work opportunities
- Ensure compliance with UIL, district, and school policies
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Prior coaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, systems, and player development
- CDL or ability to obtain (preferred)
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
