Program Overview: Lake Travis High School is a premier 6A program in Central Texas with a rich history of success, including multiple state championships and a reputation for developing elite talent. We seek passionate, high-character coaches committed to player development, academic excellence, and building championship culture.
Position Summary: Lake Travis High School is seeking a dedicated Offensive Assistant Coach to join our varsity football staff. The successful candidate will also serve as a certified classroom teacher in Lake Travis ISD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and executing the defensive game plan, including scheme concepts, play install, and weekly preparation.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of modern defensive systems, including balanced attacks (pass-heavy with strong run game elements), RPO concepts, spread formations, tempo variations, and gap/power/counter schemes.
- Coach position groups with emphasis on technique, fundamentals, footwork, etc.
- Teach film study, scout opponents' offenses, and contribute to self-scouting and in-game adjustments.
- Recruit and develop student-athletes, promoting academic success, character building, and college opportunities.
- Support head coach and defensive coordinator in all aspects of program operations, including summer conditioning, camps, 7-on-7, and community engagement.
- Serve as a full-time teacher, maintaining high standards in the classroom and fulfilling all professional duties.
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with Lake Travis values: integrity, effort, toughness, and excellence.
