Smithfield, Rhode Island, The Athletics Department at Bryant University invites applications for the 2-year Graduate Assistant position in Equipment Room Operations. Bryant University is an NCAA Division I program, sponsoring 25 varsity sports, and is a member of the America East Conference as well as an associate member of the Coastal Athletic Association, Big South, and East Coast Conferences. This position reports to the Director of Athletic Equipment (or designated athletics administrator).
The Graduate Assistant for the Equipment Room will assist with the daily operations, inventory management, and distribution of athletic equipment and apparel for Bryant University’s varsity programs, ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional standards.
Salary Range:
GA compensation includes a full tuition waiver, housing, and a $1,500.00 stipend in Spring and Fall semesters starting August 1. Graduate School is a 2-year part-time program beginning August 2026 through August 2028.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the daily operations of the athletics equipment room
Issuing, fitting, tracking, and retrieving athletic equipment and apparel for assigned varsity teams
Assisting with maintaining accurate inventory records of uniforms, equipment, and supplies
Supporting laundry operations, including washing, drying, and maintaining practice and game apparel
Assisting with ordering, receiving, and organizing equipment and apparel shipments
Preparing and maintaining equipment for practices, competitions, and travel
Assisting with equipment setup and breakdown for home events and practices
Supporting equipment needs for game-day operations and special events
Ensuring equipment and apparel meet NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe equipment room environment
Assisting with administrative duties such as data entry, inventory tracking, and documentation
Performing other duties as assigned
This position requires availability on nights, weekends, early mornings, and during team travel, consistent with practice and competition schedules. Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and acceptance into the Bryant University Graduate School (acceptance must be confirmed before candidate will be considered).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in an athletic equipment room, preferably at the collegiate level
Knowledge of athletic equipment, apparel, and laundry operations
Strong organizational and inventory management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and travel
Exposure to intercollegiate athletics
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with coaches, student-athletes, and staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
