Job Description
Jordan High School is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Head Baseball Coach who also serves as a Core Subject Teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices in the classroom, leadership on and off the field, and the ability to build and manage a successful baseball program aligned with school and district values.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach an assigned core academic subject (e.g., Math, Science, English/ELA, or Social Studies) in accordance with state standards and district curriculum.
Coaching Responsibilities
- Serve as Head Baseball Coach, responsible for all aspects of the baseball program.
- Plan, organize, and lead practices, games, and off-season activities.
- Supervise, evaluate, and manage the baseball coaching staff.
- Develop student-athletes’ skills while promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and academic accountability.
- Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administrators, and staff.
- Manage equipment, facilities, scheduling, and program budgets as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification in a core subject area.
- Previous high school baseball coaching experience, preferably at the head coach level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a baseball coaching staff.
- Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to student-athlete development, academics, and character building.
Compensation
- Teaching salary based on district schedule.
- Additional coaching stipend.
