Job Description

We are looking for a high-energy, passionate girls assistant coach committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. This person will coach multiple sports, and needs to have a dedication to teaching fundamentals, and the ability to help build a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture.  Please send resume to csexton@normangeeisd.org

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and implementing practices and game strategies
  • Teach sport-specific fundamentals, techniques, and schemes across assigned sports
  • Support strength and conditioning programs in alignment with athletic performance goals
  • Promote and model character, discipline, accountability, and teamwork
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, and the community
  • Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and off-season activities
  • Assist with equipment management, inventory, and facility upkeep
  • Support program needs such as scouting, film breakdown, and administrative tasks

Multi-Sport Expectations:

  • Coach and contribute to multiple girls athletic programs as assigned
  • Collaborate with other coaches to ensure consistency in expectations and culture
  • Be flexible and team-oriented in meeting the needs of the overall athletic program

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • CDL or ability to obtain (preferred)
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to the values and expectations of Normangee ISD Athletics
