Boys Basketball Assistant Coach

ROLE AND PURPOSE:

• Assist in delivering a quality basketball program that is rooted in education-based values, high expectations, consistency, academic performance, and transformational leadership for all who participate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid Texas teaching certificate 

EXPERIENCE:

• Basketball coaching experience

• General knowledge of Basketball coaching techniques and procedures

• Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations

• Ability to develop, instruct, and supervise student athletes

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)

• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes who participate in basketball.

• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

• Work with school faculty to promote academic excellence.

• Ensure a quality and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Possible Second Sport

CDL preferred, but not required.
