Position: Assistant Girls Coach / Spanish Teacher

Description:
Big Sandy ISD is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and student-centered professional to join our team as an Assistant Girls Coach and Spanish Teacher. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about education, committed to student success, and dedicated to building strong relationships both in the classroom and through athletics.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish courses at the assigned grade level(s)
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Assistant Coach for Girls Athletics, with possible assignments in:
    • Volleyball
    • Basketball
    • Track
  • Support the Head Coach in planning practices, game strategies, and athlete development
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
  • Assist with supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and travel

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification (Spanish or eligibility to obtain)
  • CDL (willing to obtain)
  • Coaching experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students both academically and athletically
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Big Sandy ISD
