JOB TITLE: Offensive Coordinator -High School
REPORTS TO: Campus Athletic Coordinator
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: Stipend Salary Schedule
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The High School Coach is responsible for organizing and implementing the program for the assigned sport in keeping with the District goals, philosophy, policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities
- Offensive Strategy & Playbook: Design and implement a comprehensive offensive system that fits the current roster's strengths.
- Game Planning: Conduct detailed film study of upcoming opponents to identify defensive tendencies and create weekly game plans to exploit weaknesses.
- In-Game Play-Calling: Primary responsibility for calling plays on game day, making real-time adjustments based on defensive shifts, field position, and game flow.
- Practice Planning: Organize and lead offensive practice segments, focusing on timing, execution, and fundamental skill development.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the efforts of offensive position coaches (Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Offensive Line, etc.).
- Student-Athlete Development: Mentor players academically while providing technical instruction to improve their athletic performance.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with equipment inventory, statistical analysis, and compliance with state UIL and district athletic rules.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree. w SBEC/ TEA Certification
- Experience: 3–5 years of coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Certifications:
- NHSCA / UIL Altavus Tackling & coaching certifications.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Concussion and sudden cardiac arrest safety training.
Key Skills
- Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of offensive schemes, formations, and situational football
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using game analysis software like Hudl for film breakdown and playbook creation tools.
- Communication: Ability to clearly relay complex strategies to athletes and collaborate effectively with other coaches.
- Adaptability: Capacity to change as need to remain effective
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun and heat.
