Executive Director (Part-Time)

(18 Hours/Week)

Organization: Tennis Alliance of Anne Arundel County

Position Title: Executive Director / Development & Communications Lead
Employment Classification: Independent Contractor (1099)

Schedule: Approximately 18 hours per week (flexible schedule; some evening/weekend availability)

Compensation: $20,000 annually

Future Growth: Future increases in hours and compensation may be considered based on organizational growth

About Us

We are a small mission-driven nonprofit (501c3) dedicated to expanding tennis opportunities, and promoting the sport for health, wellness, and community engagement. We bring tennis opportunities to youth, families, and adaptive athletes through community partnerships and volunteer-led programs.

Position Overview

The Executive Director’s primary responsibilities are to lead fundraising efforts and oversee day-to-day marketing and communications. Program execution, volunteer management, and operational tasks remain board-led and committee-led through volunteer Program Managers and board committees. The ED supports communication and coordination across the organization and serves as a strategic partner to the Board. This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and seeks to make a meaningful impact while maintaining flexibility.

Fundraising & Development (45%)

  • Identify, cultivate, secure donors and sponsors; oversee donor relationships
  • Coordinate fundraising messaging and campaign initiatives
  • Maintain donor tracking systems
  • Recommend and coordinate additional fundraising initiatives
  • Assist Program Managers with grant writing

Marketing & Communications (45%)

  • Support Program Managers with communication and marketing needs
  • Ensure brand consistency. Communicate website and social media strategies with appropriate volunteers. Manage an annual communications calendar
  • Promote major programs and success stories
  • Engage with Program Managers and support their relationships with partners
  • Serve as organization’s public representative at donor meetings, events, and outreach
  • Daily monitoring of the ED Tennis Alliance email account

Organizational Coordination (10%)

  • Review financial information with the Treasurer
  • Support Board processes, policies, and procedures
  • Provide regular updates to the Board on activities and progress
  • Support the President to develop Board agendas
  • Maintain oversight of document organization in shared drives

 Practical Requirements

  • Ability to travel within the DMV region using a personal vehicle for meetings and community events

·       Comfortable using MS Office Suite and common communication tools including email, text messaging, and Google collaboration platforms.
