Job Posting: Assistant Football Coach / Second Sport (Social Studies)

Position: Assistant Football Coach (Offensive or Defensive Position) / Second Sport (Basketball, Track, or Soccer)
Teaching Field: High School Math

Position Overview

North Lamar is seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven educator to join our athletic and academic team as an Assistant Football Coach with a second sport assignment (basketball, track, or soccer). This individual will play a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field, while contributing to a positive, competitive, and student-centered culture.

Coaching Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Assistant Football Coach (offense or defense based on experience and program needs)
  • Demonstrate mastery of position-specific fundamentals and player development
  • Plan, organize, and execute daily practices with attention to detail and efficiency
  • Build strong, positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and parents
  • Promote accountability, discipline, and team culture aligned with program values
  • Assist with offseason programs, strength and conditioning, and summer workouts
  • Support the overall athletic program and multi-sport participation

Second Sport Responsibilities

  • Coach one additional sport (basketball, track, or soccer) based on experience and program needs
  • Contribute to program development, skill instruction, and competition preparation
  • Foster a culture of effort, teamwork, and growth within the second sport

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach high school math courses as assigned
  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment focused on student learning and growth
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certification in High School Math (required)
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals (offensive or defensive specialization)
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for coaching and teaching
  • Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with students
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to the development of the whole student-athlete

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coaching at the high school level
  • Ability to contribute in multiple sports
  • Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development
