Position Overview
North Lamar is seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven educator to join our athletic and academic team as an Assistant Football Coach with a second sport assignment (basketball, track, or soccer). This individual will play a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field, while contributing to a positive, competitive, and student-centered culture.
Coaching Responsibilities
- Serve as an Assistant Football Coach (offense or defense based on experience and program needs)
- Demonstrate mastery of position-specific fundamentals and player development
- Plan, organize, and execute daily practices with attention to detail and efficiency
- Build strong, positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and parents
- Promote accountability, discipline, and team culture aligned with program values
- Assist with offseason programs, strength and conditioning, and summer workouts
- Support the overall athletic program and multi-sport participation
Second Sport Responsibilities
- Coach one additional sport (basketball, track, or soccer) based on experience and program needs
- Contribute to program development, skill instruction, and competition preparation
- Foster a culture of effort, teamwork, and growth within the second sport
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach high school math courses as assigned
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction
- Maintain a positive classroom environment focused on student learning and growth
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification in High School Math (required)
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals (offensive or defensive specialization)
- High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for coaching and teaching
- Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with students
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Commitment to the development of the whole student-athlete
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coaching at the high school level
- Ability to contribute in multiple sports
- Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development
