Fort Bend Christian Academy is looking for an Assistant Athletic Director and Girls Soccer Coach who sees athletics as an opportunity to glorify God and enjoy Him by discipling players off the field, striving for excellence on the field, loving our neighbors through the field, and sending our players out as disciple makers into the world.

Qualifications

  • Spiritual Alignment: The applicant will be in 100% agreement with the Fort Bend Christian Academy’s purpose and mission, Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, and the school's Doctrinal Statement.
  • Faith Leadership: The applicant shall be one who follows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and can articulate the Gospel and their testimony in any situation.
  • Church Participation: The applicant has a strong history of active participation, attendance, or membership in a church with doctrine and beliefs aligned with the school’s statements and has multiple references able to verify the same.
  • Discipleship: The applicant will provide examples of systematically using the game of soccer to disciple young people in the past and can point to former players out in the world currently doing the same thing (Proverbs 22:6).
  • Coaching Excellence: The applicant has proven success as a Head Coach or Varsity Assistant at the varsity level in a private school or UIL 3A level and above.
  • Technical Proficiency: The applicant must possess strong administrative skills and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, Planner, Word, and Excel.
  • Mission Mindset: The applicant shall be a college graduate and one who is passionate about the school’s mission and believes that serving in Christian education would be pleasing to God and good stewardship of their gifts and talents.

Work Schedule

This position is an exempt, twelve-month, full-time assignment. He/she is eligible for full-time benefits.

  • In-season: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with coaching duties performed before and after the administrative schedule.
  • Off-season: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with game coverage duties at least two times (but up to three nights) a week during busy seasons.
  • Game Day: 10:00 AM until responsibilities are completed.
  • General Requirement: The position regularly requires that work be performed during evenings and weekends.

Job Duties: Spiritual, Personal & Professional

  • Spiritual Leadership: Systematically create opportunities to share the Gospel and grow disciples through the game of soccer (Matthew 4:19).
  • Mentorship: Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ (Psalm 62:1-2).
  • Role Modeling: Serve as a role model in attitude, speech, and actions; demonstrating a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).
  • Conflict Resolution: Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Integrity: Demonstrate the character qualities of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in their interactions with others (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • Professionalism: Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications and follow established procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.

Upper School Head Girls Soccer Coach

  • Discipleship Plan: Set up a systematic plan for using the game of soccer to disciple athletes daily.
  • Program Oversight: Oversee the entire Upper School & Middle School soccer program, including but not limited to promotion of the soccer program.
  • Logistics: Develop practice and game schedules, monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular participation, and oversee cleaning, repair, and secure storage of equipment and uniforms.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all TAPPS regulations.
  • Staffing: Work with the Athletic Director in the hiring and supervision of soccer coaching assistants.
  • Programming: Implement preseason, in-season, postseason, and offseason plans—including summer camps and soccer administrative duties such as picking officials.

Administrative Duties (Assistant Athletic Director)

  • Program Management: Responsible for all administrative issues, schedules, travel, and inventory regarding MS/US Cheerleading, US Dance, Girls Soccer, MS/US Golf, and Strength and Conditioning.
  • Event Management: Assist with the management of all TAPPS competitive activities that occur at the home campus as well as additional tournaments/meets held by FBCA.
  • Liaison Roles: Serve as the liaison between the athletic department and MS administrators, the MS front office, HUDL, and Arbiter.
  • Facilities & Maintenance:
    • Serve as the evaluator and point of contact for athletic field maintenance, equipment storage, and organization.
    • Work with the Director of Facilities to ensure all athletic fields are safe for use.
    • Coordinate and schedule yearly JH/HS gym floor refinishing.
  • Operations: Coordinate and evaluate the daily laundry schedule, daily US and MS Opening and Closing schedule, and direct playoff arrangements for all assigned programs.
  • Compliance & Evaluation: Conduct TAPPS compliance meetings/EOS for assigned programs and evaluate athletic staff as assigned.
  • Budgeting: Assist business and operations director in budget planning for all senior high athletics and junior high athletics.

Physical Requirements

  • Endurance: Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, including in an outdoor environment.
  • Physical Labor: Ability to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, frequently lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
