Morton Independent School District is seeking a passionate, driven, and relationship-centered Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead and grow our program in grades 7–12 starting in the 2026-27 school year.
Morton is a basketball community with a proud and storied tradition, including 7 State Basketball Championships and 1 Girls Basketball State Title. Head Coach for Girls Basketball (Grades 7–12)
Oversee vertical alignment and program development from JH through Varsity
Build relationships with athletes, parents, and the community
Develop off-season programming and skill development systems
Coaches will also have:
Fall Assignment: Cross Country or Football (Basketball development prioritized)
Spring Assignment: Tennis, Golf, Softball, or Track (based on candidate strengths and campus needs)
Bachelor’s Degree required
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required
Teaching field is open to best fit the right candidate (no PE currently assigned)
