San Antonio Churchill Head Volleyball Coach

Primary Purpose of Position:

The Head Volleyball Coach will lead and manage the volleyball program at the high school level and support vertical alignment within the athletic cluster. Under the direction of the Athletic Coordinator, Campus Principal, and Executive Director of Athletics, the coach is responsible for developing student-athletes, maintaining a comprehensive and competitive volleyball program, and fulfilling all campus and district expectations as a classroom teacher.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide high quality instruction in the assigned teaching content area.

2. Implement effective instructional strategies aligned with NEISD curriculum and standards.

3. Coordinate all aspects of the girls’ soccer program in grades 9-12.

4. Assist with vertical alignment and support for middle school volleyball programs as needed.

5. Design and implement offensive and defensive systems appropriate for high school athletes.

6. Provide leadership, support, and guidance to all coaches assigned to the volleyball program.

7. Ensure compliance with all UIL, district, and campus athletic policies and procedures.

8. Oversee roster management, player eligibility, equipment inventory, letterman qualifications, and required reporting.

9. Communicate regularly with the Athletic Coordinator and/or Assistant Athletic Coordinator regarding program needs and staffing.

10. May be assigned to coach an additional sport or assist with other athletic programs.

11. Participate in gameday operations, tournaments, district events, and other duties as assigned.

12. Transport students as needed.  CDL required or willingness to obtain one.

13. Model and promote sportsmanship, character, integrity, and excellence within the athletic program.

14. Maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by campus or district leadership.
