Fort Bend Christian Academy is seeking an Upper School Girls Soccer Coach who will also serve as an Assistant Cross Country/Track Coach. We are looking for a leader who sees athletics as an opportunity to glorify God and enjoy Him by discipling players off the field, striving for excellence on the field, loving our neighbors through the field, and sending our players out as disciple-makers into the world.
Job Title: Middle School History Teacher / Upper School Girls Soccer Coach / Assistant Cross Country & Track Coach
Status: Teacher or Stipend Coach
Reports to: Head of School, Upper School Principal, and Athletic Director
Spiritual Alignment: 100% agreement with FBCA’s purpose, mission, Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, and Doctrinal Statement.
Faith Witness: A follower of Jesus Christ who can clearly articulate the Gospel and their personal testimony.
Church Involvement: Active participation or membership in a church with beliefs aligned with the school’s statements; ability to provide multiple references verifying this.
Discipleship Track Record: Ability to provide examples of systematically using sports to disciple young people and pointing to former players who are now doing the same (Proverbs 22:6).
Experience: Proven success as an Assistant Coach or Position Coach at the Varsity level (Private School or UIL 3A and above preferred). Must demonstrate the ability to lead a specific unit or position group while supporting the Head Coach’s overall program vision.
Community Impact: Tangible evidence of investing in the community for God’s glory.
Education: College graduate passionate about Christian education and stewardship of their talents.
Systematically create opportunities to share the Gospel and grow disciples through soccer, cross country, and track (Matthew 4:19).
Lead students to realize their self-worth in Christ (Psalm 62:1-2).
Coach in a way that gives glory to God (Colossians 3:23).
Serve as a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Model the importance of Scripture memorization, prayer, witnessing, and fellowship (Psalm 119:11).
Use athletics as a vehicle to love our neighbors (Mark 12:31).
Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
Set up a systematic plan for using soccer to disciple athletes daily.
Oversee the entire Upper School & Middle School girls soccer program, including recruitment and promotion.
Develop practice/game schedules and ensure compliance with all TAPPS regulations.
Monitor student eligibility and oversee the care, repair, and storage of equipment/uniforms.
Implement preseason, in-season, postseason, and offseason plans, including summer camps.
Set up a systematic plan for using running/track to disciple athletes daily.
Assist the Head Coach in overseeing the US/MS programs and promoting the sports.
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling meets, securing officials, and managing sub-varsity logistics.
Assist in implementing year-round training plans and summer camps.
Policies: Cooperate with administration in implementing all school policies (Romans 13).
Communication: Keep stakeholders informed of progress or deficiencies with sufficient notice (Matthew 5:37). Use clear, professional English.
Growth: Attend devotions, in-service retreats, and faculty meetings. Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
Environment: Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment and support the broader school program by attending other extracurriculars.
Ability to sit/stand for extended periods in an outdoor environment.
Ability to bend, walk, and lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Assignment: This is an exempt, twelve-month, full-time assignment (if combined with the teaching role).
Schedule: Regularly requires work during evenings and weekends.
