Middle School Boys Coach-Texas History Teacher

Description:
Tarkington ISD is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered educator to serve as a Middle School Boys Coach with responsibilities in Football, Basketball, and Track, along with teaching 7th Grade Texas History. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Coaching duties include assisting with all aspects of the athletic program, promoting character and sportsmanship, and supporting multi-sport participation.

Responsibilities:

• Coach middle school boys in Football, Basketball, and Track
• Teach 7th Grade Texas History in alignment with TEKS standards
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and competitive athletic environment
• Collaborate with coaching staff and faculty to support student success
• Maintain compliance with UIL and district policies
• Assist with game preparation, supervision, and travel

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain)
• CDL or willingness/ability to obtain CDL required
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Commitment to academic and athletic excellence
