Athletic Director / Head Football Coach

Position Overview:
The Athletic Director / Head Football Coach will provide leadership and oversight for the district’s entire athletic program while serving as the head coach of the varsity football team. This individual will be responsible for building a strong athletic culture, developing student-athletes, and ensuring compliance with UIL and district expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Athletic Director Duties:
-Provide overall leadership, coordination, and supervision of the district’s athletic programs (7–12)
-Develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program aligned with district goals
-Supervise and evaluate coaching staff and athletic personnel
-Manage athletic budgets, scheduling, transportation, and facilities
-Ensure compliance with UIL rules, district policies, and state regulations
-Promote sportsmanship, character development, and academic success among student-athletes
-Coordinate athletic events with other district departments and maintain positive community relations
-Oversee maintenance and use of athletic facilities and equipment
-Work collaboratively with Girls Athletic Coordinator to ensure success all athletic programs
-Help with shared Admin on Duty responsibilities at home athletic events

Head Football Coach Duties:
-Lead and manage all aspects of the football program (7th–12th grade)
-Develop and implement offensive, defensive, and special teams strategies
-Organize and supervise practices, games, offseason programs, and strength/conditioning
-Build a competitive and disciplined football program focused on student-athlete development
-Mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes
-Promote academic accountability and positive behavior among athletes

-Bachelor’s degree (required)
-CDL or willingness to obtain CDL (required)
-Valid Texas teaching certification (required or ability to obtain)
-Prior athletic administration or leadership experience (preferred)
-Proven experience in high school football coaching
-Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
-Deep knowledge of UIL rules and compliance requirements
-Ability to manage multiple programs and personnel effectively
