Assistant Offensive Football Coach

Assistant Football (Offense) / Second Sport is Track & Field.

Position Summary: Lake Travis High School is seeking a dedicated Offensive Assistant Coach to join our varsity football staff. This role will focus on offensive scheme implementation, position-specific coaching (flexible based on experience, e.g., skill positions, tight ends, or supporting the OC), technique instruction, and contributing to game planning. The successful candidate will also serve as a certified classroom teacher in Lake Travis ISD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and executing the offensive game plan, including scheme concepts, play calling support, and weekly preparation.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of modern offensive systems, including balanced attacks (pass-heavy with strong run game elements), RPO concepts, spread formations, tempo variations, and gap/power/counter schemes.
• Coach position groups with emphasis on technique, fundamentals, footwork, blocking schemes, route running, quarterback development, and player safety.
• Teach film study, scout opponents' defenses, and contribute to self-scouting and in-game adjustments.
• Recruit and develop student-athletes, promoting academic success, character building, and college opportunities.
• Support head coach and offensive coordinator in all aspects of program operations, including summer conditioning, camps, 7-on-7, and community engagement.
• Serve as a full-time teacher (field/subject open based on certification and district needs), maintaining high standards in the classroom and fulfilling all professional duties.
