Position Overview
The Head Volleyball Coach will be responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and success of the volleyball program in grades 7–12. This position requires a collaborative leader who can mentor assistant coaches, foster a positive team culture, and ensure compliance with all district, UIL, and board policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and vision for the entire volleyball program, grades 7–12
- Build and maintain a vertically aligned program from youth development through Varsity
- Plan, organize, and direct all volleyball practices, competitions, and offseason programs
- Oversee, mentor, and evaluate assistant volleyball coaches at all levels
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and competitive culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, character, and academic success
- Ensure compliance with UIL rules and regulations and all Castleberry ISD Board policies
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administrators, staff, and the community
- Coordinate scheduling, equipment, budgeting, and facility use
- Support and collaborate with campus administrators and athletic department staff
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate for student-athletes
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a successful volleyball program preferred
- Head coaching experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and skill development
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire student-athletes
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Hard-working, collaborative, and professional in all interactions
- Commitment to a student-centered coaching philosophy
- Ability to work effectively with coaches across multiple campuses and grade levels
Additional Requirements
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or ability to obtain one (No Health or PE)
- UIL certification and compliance training (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to meet all district and state employment requirements
