Assistant Tennis Coach

Job Description

The Methodist Tennis Program Assistant Coach position is a temporary stipend-paid position that is a key assistant for the Men’s & Women’s Tennis Programs to assist with various operational functions.

The position is expected to start on or around February 1, 2026 and conclude on May 1, 2026. All candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not provide monetary assistance or support for those seeking such assistance to become authorized to work in the United States.

Specific duties of the position will include:

  1. Assist the staff with conducting practices and coaching during matches for both programs.
  2. Assist the staff with the recruitment process of potential students to the program for Fall 2026 & 2027 including written correspondence and other communication methods such as phone calls, texts, and social media outlets.
  3. Assist the staff with executing social media campaigns to market the programs to current stakeholders, alumni and recruits for the program.

This position is a temporary position that is paid a set stipend for their work. They may also receive internship credit for the position for an internship class at Methodist or any other university they choose. In addition, the Operations Intern may receive the following secondary benefits.

  1. Clothing and other items related to the programs that is available during the time of the internship.
  2. Upon successful completion of the internship, the Head Varsity Tennis Coach may provide a written positive recommendation letter to the Operations Intern to use when applying for future positions within the industry, dependent upon the success or failure of the intern in the position.
  3. Other benefits that may come available during the internship.

The general hours for this temporary position will be as follows:

  •             Mondays thru Friday               2-7pm
  •             Saturdays                                  10am-12pm
  •             Matches as scheduled            See Match Schedule

Other various hours as needed and determined and approved by the Head Varsity Tennis Coach.
