Job Description
POSITION: HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER – NEWMAN SMITH HIGH SCHOOL
ATHLETICS CONTRACT PERIOD: 187 DAYS
SALARY: CFB ISD TEACHER PAY SCALE and STIPEND
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Teacher Certification
- Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT)
- NATABOC Certification (ATC)
- CPR/AED Certification/Instructor
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the athletic training staff in evaluation, treatment, and physician referral for all students’ athletes at practices, games and tournaments.
• Provide emergency care for student athletes
• Provide, develop, and implement rehabilitation protocols for injured student-athletes as well as protective techniques.
• Attend athletic practices and games as assigned and help with the day-to-day operation of the Athletic Training Room.
• Lead concussion protocols/ISway testing and electronic record keeping to maintain accurate records regarding student athlete progress.
• Establish and maintain effective communications with student athletes, parents, coaching staff, physicians and other stakeholder groups.
• Ability to recruit, train and supervise student athletic training students
• Maintain a clean and organized professional working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
