Pertinent Information: Highland Park ISD (Conference 5A) is looking for an assistant swim / assistant water polo coach for the 2025-2026 School Year. Applicants will assist Head Water Polo Coach, Chris Cullen and Head Swim Coach, Jason Pullano. On June 17th, HPISD announced a 7% raise for all staff members and a new salary schedule making HPISD one of the highest paying district's in North Texas. Asst. Swim Coach Stipend is $4250 per year
Asst. Water Polo Coach Stipend is $3500 per year
Essentially, a first year teacher would earn $70,750 per year to fill this position
Additionally, HPISD's Masters Degree Stipend is $3000 per year and HPISD PTA and Sports Clubs offer partial tuition reimbursement for Graduate students pursuing masters degrees in an approved focus area.
Lastly, core content secondary teachers in HPISD have 3 off periods per day (one full lunch period, one department, one conference period) in an 8 period day. A core content teacher would teach 3 academic classes along with 1st and 8th period athletics. HPISD has an 8 lane, 25 yard natatorium located on campus.
Current Position Teaching Assignment is tied to High School Social Studies, but applicants with other content preferences are encouraged to apply as well.

The Highland Park Independent School District first opened its doors in October 1914 with a four-room building on Cornell Avenue. Highland Park High School students consistently score above the national and state average on college entrance exams. The most recent statistics show, Highland Park HS students scored a composite 26.9 on the ACT, 7 points above the state average. The district's average SAT composite score of 1286 exceeds the state and the national averages at 978 and 1028, respectively. 631 Highland Park High School students were also recognized with Advanced Placement Scholar Awards by the College Board for demonstrating outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on AP exams. 257 students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction. This award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Highland Park High School has won the Lone Star Cup from the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) an unprecedented 13 times, awarded annually to only six high schools in the state, one in each of the six UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A), based on team performance in district and state championships. The Lone Star Cup includes points earned in academic, fine arts and athletic competitions.
Dallas is home to the State Fair of Texas, some of the finest museums in the Southwest and professional sports teams. Southern Methodist University, one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the South, is located in the Park Cities and offers a variety of concerts, lectures and athletic events to the surrounding area.
