The high school Track head coach should be prepared to supervise, lead and develop athletes in the Track Program.
Essential Functions:
• Provides supervision and leadership for team in correspondence to the mission of the athletic department.
• Provides instruction to develop the Track & Field skill sets of participating student-athletes
• Organizes and facilitates daily practices and team specific meet day functions
• Oversees coaching support staff
• Reports to the Athletic Director
• Follows duties and responsibilities outlined in the Coaches Handbook.
• Maintains Track and Field equipment.
Qualifications: The coach must:
• Be available for entire employment period, inclusive of all trainings
• Utilize an engaging approach, recognizing that student-athletes learn in a variety of ways
• Possess the ability to form relationships with students and parents
• Communicate effectively with Athletic Director, assistant coaches, student-athletes and their families as needed
Requirements:
• Must hold a valid Texas teaching certificate
• Must provide background in coaching Track & Field.
• Must demonstrate ability to work independently.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks.
