Job Overview:
Channelview ISD is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and skilled educator-coach to serve as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Channelview High School. The successful candidate will assist in leading a competitive 6A baseball program focused on player development, academic success, and character building. This full-time position includes a teaching assignment in a certified content area that aligns with district needs.
The Channelview Falcons athletic program emphasizes a strong culture of teamwork, discipline, and student-first development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of the baseball program, including varsity and sub-varsity teams
Implement daily practice plans and skill development for position groups and team needs
Assist with strength and conditioning programs year-round
Help organize and supervise games, tournaments, travel, and inventory
Promote academic excellence and positive character in student-athletes
Maintain positive relationships with players, families, faculty, and the greater community
Uphold all UIL, district, and campus policies
Contribute to campus and district initiatives as a classroom teacher
Qualifications:
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (7–12 content area, based on district staffing needs)
Baseball coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred
CDL or willingness to obtain (preferred)
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Passion for working with student-athletes and helping them succeed on and off the field
Compensation:
Competitive teacher salary based on Channelview ISD salary schedule
Stipend for Assistant Baseball Coach
Additional stipends (Second Sport Options) may be available depending on other responsibilities or certifications

The Channelview Independent School District is a rapidly growing school district with 9,500 students. Channelview ISD has a rich history of being “actively engaged in the future of our community” with the school district being established on June 24, 1938.
